These threads, like most on Dave's, occur quite predictably, and cyclically. Take a quick peak at historical data and foreign exchange analysis regarding the won against the American dollar:

10 years: http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD}&to=KRW&view=10Y

5 years: http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD}&to=KRW&view=5Y

In general, a downward (stronger won) trend with peaks of intervention/North Korean madness/policy change. Most international institutions have been writing that the won has been severely undervalued. I think there are few economists with advanced degrees on this board that are actually working in their field, and could offer us a better understanding, but knowing Dave's, it would be shot down pretty darn quick, or lost within the muck and flaming.

Q what will Korea do when a a Lexus is cheaper than a KIA? This is n not about North Korea. This is about Japan.

Hope big Korean universities end up bleeding when this is all said and done.

The other consensus is that Jackson7 is an apologist, propagandist and an excuse maker of the very worst sort for big famous Korean universities .

I will take that deal . How about you?

ESL in Korea is broken. The upcoming devaluation of the won ( just look across the pond ) should not be considered the icing on the cake because esl in Korea pretty much already went bust even before. Korea= low salary.

Yep out of touch.

By the way if you had any class whatsoever you would admit that I was right.

Societe Generale's notoriously bearish strategist, Albert Edwards, believes the Japanese currency will sink to 145 yen against the U.S. dollar by the end of March, forcing devaluations across the Asian region and sending a "tidal wave" of deflation towards the West.

By the way got another deal for you Jackson7 I will accept that I am ignorant (and out of my mind ) IF you accept that you are arrogant (and dishonest ) . How about it?

...shall have to wait and see.

Honestly, if it gets to a point where I am only making $1500-$1600 U.S. a month, than the matter will have to be taken into high consideration.

GENO -- you've built your rep through multiple threads addressing "big famous Korean universities' problems" with nothing but misinformation and speculation, and here you are again, doing the same thing. You've been picked apart on other threads, whereas most have simply decided to ignore your ignorant vitriol. Enjoy a life of underachieving and attacking the system that will always seem stacked against you. Here's a prediction: the Korean won will get weaker and stronger over time, but you'll always be a troll.

Just as you have built your rep as an apologist and propagandist and excuse maker for big famous Korean universities with just about every post you make . My numbers are correct your numbers are disinformation. Who took my posts down? Certainly not you.You just aren't good enough.

What is your time frame for the won?

Here is my prediction the Korean won will get a lot weaker and you will continue to be a source of misinformation and disinformation without a touch of class till the end . That is even worse than being a troll.

A few months ago I got $1.10/won. The worst I've seen it was like 95cents/won. But now it's about even. But both the CAD and won are sinking.

15-month low today.

If this continues, it only makes China look more attractive. Their currency has steadily risen to about 6rmb/USD.
If the Korean currency totally tanks, say 1500/USD like in 2008-9, I'd say just move to China for a couple years, earn money, the come back to Korea and get a huge amount of won for your RMB.

Both working in Korea and Japan are effed as far as currency is concerned.
I guess if you're here forever, with no obligations back home, it wouldn't matter. But for the rest of us.......

What a way to say absolutely nothing. Jackson7 in now in with the currency experts. But he wwont post cause they will get flamed. Yeah right. Just double talk. Watch this conversation end right now.

How can thw won be getting stronger/ upward trend with the yen in a death spiral? This conversation is finished. J7 will not be back cause he has nothing to answer with.
