Not exactly a profound observation, is it now?

Nope, just a simple little mantra that doesn't appear to have done me much harm in my interactions with people.

True, so interaction between them is completely unnecessary anyways. She can choose to mind her own business but chose not to on that day at least.

We can infer from his attitude that Smith is rude but we don't know for sure that he has done anything to bring down the wrath of rudeness from his co-workers.

At the end of the day, you can 'give' her as much as you want. And she too can 'give' you back as much as she wants. But I am firm believer in the idea that how one is perceived by others has a massive impact on how one is then treated by others.

Wow Tiger, that's a shitty attitude. I hate agreeing with Smith.

Smithy was hired to teach English. That is his job. He is not obligated to speak Korean at all. It is good if he does but not necessary.

안녕하세요 is about all I'd give the lady. Not that I have anything against her, I just think we would have nothing in common at all.

The biggest problem in this country is the way they raise the males.

After ten years here I can hardly think of even one single male here that has behaved like what westerners recognize as a man.

Almost without exception, Korean males are insecure, childish, dishonourable, liars, control freaks, rude, stubborn, inept, effete, incompetent, arrogant, exploitative, sexist, obnoxious, either over-friendly or over aggressive; pig-headed, imbued with false pride; dim-witted, humor-impaired, clueless, foppish, jealous, calculating, pathetic, or totally unskilled.

So Korean men are all of these or just one? Dude, you could probably describe every person in the world with at least one of those.

In fact, several of those adjectives describe you.

I find Continental men to be stupid, silly, unserious, dirty, odorous, funny, well hung, abrupt, goonish, haughty, snobish, low class, unkind, masucline, regal, gay and stupid. Almost all of them. Well the ones i've met. And seen on tv shows like 'Allo 'Allo (remember that? Old Rene always trying to keep one step of the Germans and the hilarious sexual inuendos.ah lol). Anyway, I forgot my main point.....oh yeah. *beep* Korea!

Male privilege is global, but yeah I agree with you.
I find Korean women to be saintly compared to the men.
Haven't found one Korean guy worth hanging out with, or even tolerable for an extended amount of time-especially when drunk. Dead on analysis

A desperate attempt to make oneself feel superior. Not surprising given that he calls cleaning ladies "peasants".

Sorry, even some of the haters here have a few Korean guy friends. If you haven't found one, that's on you and is a reflection of your character. It probably is a manifestation of inner bigotries and a superiority complex.

I see you've added psychiatry to your list of specialties.

When was the last time you met a korean guy who was:-

- involved in higher things than merely pursuing his own self-interest
- kind to animals
- kind to anything percieved as weaker or less advantaged
- capable of intellectual curiosity
- volunteered his time to help others or do charity work
- not obsessed with social one-upmanship
- fefined in manners and taste
- able to deeply connect with others
- able to interract with others on an equal footing (instead of viewing everyone as either "higher" or "lower")
- able to do a task or job really well, with expertise and skill
- capable of independent thought
- capable of making decisions unaffected by social politics but by rightness or principles
- posessed of a self- identity independent of his job or social position
