I don't know. Perhaps you could enlighten me on "self-esteem". |

I definitely did not get pictures. I just walked upon it. It was a white male teacher with a younger student. I refuse to look the other way. I could care less about the job. I have dealt with these problems back in the west and I have seen the damage it has caused.
Dude....please if you have nothing to contribute on this issue spare me the witty guy on the post crap.
How would someone else deal with this situation? Are there sites or numbers of officials to contact? |
You need to provide specific details. What kind of act and so forth, within the boundaries of taste of course, but 'inappropriate' is wayyy too vague. |

In your post you said 'we' who's the other person who saw this? A Korean? I go from 'I' to 'we', and then back to I, in your post, which makes me wonder about the validity of this.
Anyways, if the adult was indeed white, then you probably could get further with an accusation than with a Korean perpetrator. If there is another person, a Korean, then this accusation has witnesses and more believable. |

So were there two of you walking up to the alleged guy? It seems strange to me that you haven't mentioned the reaction of the other person who you were with. It seems unlikely that you would be walking in the track/field area on your own while touring the school as a precursor to being employed there.
The term 'inappropriate behaviour' is used quite a lot these days and the thing with it is that it can lump behaviour that one individual may or may not disapprove of in with sexual assault etc.
What exactly did you see, and what did your partner at the time see/react like? I think if you can provide that detail then you will get better advice as to what to do. |

| You are new to Korea so you might not know the ropes yet, OP. If the student was poking his finger up the teacher's butt, that is deemed appropriate here. Move along nothing to see. |

Wasn't this exact thread done like a year ago?
Some guy was touring a hagwon as a prospective employee and he happened to walk into a room where a teacher was making out with a student.

If you 'could care less', why are you even asking?
If I couldnt care less about something, I might pursue it but otherwise, it hardly seems pertinant. |

Not only that, there was also no mention of the perpetrator being a foreigner in the original post; a very strange fact to omit.
Secondly, it was claimed that the perpetrator was wearing a shirt that identified him/her as an employee of the school. With the exception of camps, this is not common apparel for a foreign teacher. In fact to initially describe a foreign teacher as 'an employee of the school' is kind of strange ... it's almost as though these kinds of mistakes are being made on purpose. |

My only intention with my original post was to see if there was any particular steps I should follow. In Canada there is a series of step that a teacher must go tbrough when reporting an incidident of inappropriate behaviour. Different levels of administration, parents and other officials are involved in the process. I do not take any of these situations lightly. Nor do I loosely through accusations around. I know the impact they can have on an individual.
Those of you that took time to pick apart my OP let me clarify. I was visiting a potential international school. Many of the staff there wear shirts with the school logo on it. I had met several earlier who were wearing similar shirts. I did not mention that the man seen was Korean/white/or other because it made no difference to me who it was. Regarding the issue of singular/plural. "We" was simply a typo. And I did not give graphic details of what I saw mainly because it was not a report. Perhaps I should have said inappropriate touching. Would it matter if he was touching her ass or rubbing her shoulders. It certainly doesn't to me. And "I could care less" is an expression that was meant to show whether or not informing someone could cost me potential employment was irrelevant. This incident has been weighing heavily on me. I would rather have a clear conscience in knowing I did something right. There is so much other crap to deal with moving here I don't need this resting on me.
I contacted the school this morning and reported it to administration. It is in their hands now. It will be up to them as to whether or not they investigate. |
