As a Turk, I'd class him as Asian anyway.

Isn't this the guy that is supposed to be on a new tv show about road tripping around the US?

I dunno what he was thinking and why he thought he could get away with it.

Get away with what? He was stupid sending the texts but isn't that as far as it's gone? No need to go overboard, is there?

Well, I'm assuming he slept with these women. Unless he gets his rocks off by sending text messages. If he did leave Korea all of a sudden, no idea if he did or not, that kind of confirms it, no?

If he wanted to cheat, should have just gone to a business club.

I'm assuming he didn't sleep with them as the story is about texts. He was stupid doing it anyway as it was obvious someone would grass him. Would he not be in more shit if he'd gone to a business club?

He's been a bad boy but I don't get the hysteria. It was the same with Noh Hyun Chul. Drove 30 metres over the limit. Bad but no need for hime to be off the TV. Not for that anyway, I'd have fired him for being tragically unfunny...

Well, part of the hysteria is that he has a Korean wife and a kid. Sending these text messages to other females is really offensive. Plus, he is quoted on the Abnormal Summit saying that he thinks people who cheat on their wife should be shot. So he is also a hypocrite for saying that and then presumably cheating on his own wife.

Well the hypocrisy of saying people who do that should be shot is what does for him as far as I can see. I think if he's made a big mistake with his wife and kid but it's not as if he's the only one. If it's just text messages then that's bad but worse things have happened at sea!

With Hong Chul it was all about his attitude when handling the DUI. He kept refusing to take the breathalyzer test and forced the officers to take him to the station for a blood test. Then he repeatedly said that he wasn't that drunk, but his BAC was a lot higher than the legal limit. Not to mention that Hong Chul was loved by fans of the Infinity Challenge and arguably the 2nd most popular aside from Yu Jae Suk.

Isn't that his legal right? If it wasn't he would have been arrested for refusing, so I guess he's allowed to go to the station. He said he wasn't that drunk, it's possible to feel sober and be over the limit so him merely saying at some point that he 'wasn't that drunk' is not unusual, even if it is irrelevant.

Finally, so what if he is loved by fans and is popular? Does one have to behave like a monk if so? Mick Jagger/Keith Richards lots of other celebs have done all sorts but are still loved by people.

If he's so popular why can't people just say, 'nevermind, he made a mistake'...?

I said give Hong Chul a second chance, but apparently this isn't the first time. Anyways, he is on a family program, so he does need to act a certain way in public. Furthermore, this is Korea we are talking about. Whether both Enes or Hong Chul's actions weren't illegal, it definitely impacts them socially. If it impacts socially, then people aren't going to want them on the show and sponsors won't want to sponsor them.

Plus Korea does have laws against adultery unlike the States.

Just nitpicking here. Almost half the states in the US still have adultery laws, it's just extremely rare for someone to get prosecuted because of it. But it may still influence the status of child-support, and alimony payments.

I'm not sticking up for him, I don't like him anyway. He's done the wrong thing but I don't get why people get so bothered about what others do in their private lives.

He's fucked up badly but he probably knows that today.

I never met a married Korean guy that didn't cheat on his wife. Some are more discrete than others.

Do you think foreign men are any different from Korean men?

Now he is denying that he cheated. He says that this is the work of someone that likes him a lot...

Part of the uproar is that his "shtick" was Mr. Traditional Values dude. He presented himself as a complete adherent of family values, traditions, moral rectitude, etc.

Why the hell are you people watching Korean tv? Why would you voluntarily inflict that on yourselves? And it's not just that. Some of you are referring to the 'actors' by their names? You know their friggin' names? Korean television is an abomination. Yelling, crying, over the top yukking, and forced hyena laughs. And those foreigners who debase themselves on those shows are an embarassment to all of us.

You know their names. Shocked

Well some of us have a Korean spouse, and as so many have said before, pick your battles.
