I am living in a villa (Chonsei) and the landlord has given ownership of the building to his daughter. The property title is clean and I have the hwak-jeong-il-ja (νμ μΌμ ) registered at City Hall.
I believe he wants to change the contract to his daughter's name so he wants to meet next week to sign a new contract.
Is there anything I need to be aware of? I'm a bit nervous since I'm not aware of the legal implications of a new owner.
Anybody been in this situation before? |

So the liability to return your deposit has changed? You need to check the ability of the daughter to pay. I'd ask the real estate agent that arranged your housing his thoughts.
Why are they doing this? Is there a reason (maybe taxes)? |

I would assume that the reason is taxes. And yes that is my exact concern. The ability of the daughter to pay back the deposit. |
