2.9, 15 hours a week, 20 weeks holiday, a good hour outside Seoul, in the countryside,
or 3.1, 20 hours a week, 6 weeks holiday, in 4th/5th largest city?
Any thoughts? |
How does each school treat their teachers? What is the out of class workload? I think that would come before anything else.
It is never about "contact hours".
If one school is 15 for 2.8
and another is 12 for 3.1 but is a rough place to work you go with the first one - easy.
It is always TOTAL work and total trouble versus compensation.
what is known as "contact hours" ought to never factor into any decision.
Work is work and trouble is trouble whether it is in the class or out of the class. |

Hi
From what you have said it sounds like the city job might be at Woosong.
I worked there a couple of years ago. We had 20hour contracts then too, but most people averaged around 15. I realize things may have changed, just thought I'd pass on the information.
FWIW I enjoyed working there. |
A previous colleague of mine in Seoul worked there also, but quite a while back. He recommends not taking the job, but when the alternative offer is in the countryside....
From what you say, sounds like the conditions have improved. Thanks for the info. |

It seems to have come down to .... location, location, location... for me. |
