Ok, so I know that the job market is flooded in Korea, but there are so many job listings on Dave's ESL. I know there many variables, but where do you even begin? There are many posted every day. To find a job, did you just start applying like crazy, checking the different jobs every day? I know you have to look at all of the variables...but it still seems like there is a lot to look through. Any suggestions? I know it takes work, time, and patience, but I guess I am not sure where to begin. I have been working with a recruiter, but I wondered if I should start looking on my own, also. Did you guys have better luck with one recruiter or looking on your own/multiple recruiters? Thank you!

Most of them are utter crap.
Look for 4-5 hour blocks at 30-40,000/hr

The vast majority of the job ads on this and other job sites are placed by recruiters (particularly for a lot of the main Asian countries where ELT is big). Just make up a form letter (short and covering the basics) and spam all of the recruiters you can find. They are all about the same in quality and honesty. Send them also a nice photo of you and preferably one showing you teaching some happy kids. Be sure to mention that you have all of your documents ready.

The biggest piece of advice that I could give you right now is this: Don't limit yourself to only one recruiter. Contact as many as you can fine. Each has only a few jobs available. The more you contact the better you chances of finding the job that you want.

Might I add that most are going to lie to you. If they find out that you're not white, or you're over 35 years old you can forget being hired.

Not really.

maybe four or five recruiters post per day. 75% of the jobs are P/T and for F-visas only. And even for these, most are demanding a female only.

You need to have been here ten+ years ago. Something like 70 recruiters posting every day demanding anyone with a pulse ASAP.
