Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has has a FBI check come back with any blemishes, like an underage drinking citation or arrest that didn't result in any kind of conviction.

I worked in Korea for 2 years with a clean state background check, but this year, I know I need the FBI check. I think some things from 8 - 10 years ago are going to pop up, and I wonder how seriously the Korean schools will take it.

If anyone has any concrete info, I'd love to know how your schools reacted to the issues.

Thanks!

It's more serious than under-age drinking. It's "like" under-age drinking.

Maybe it was something silly like indecent exposure or whatever they call it in the US. Related to all these mentions of underage drinking - has anyone ever been arrested or receive a criminal record in the UK for this? I can't imagine they do, otherwise they would be arresting 80% of the population.

I have a petty theft misdemeanor from 2004, that was only recently sealed (not expunged). I have spoke to several recruiters, one of which called me to have me explain what happened ( I took something from a store and had t pay them back, restitution, community service, etc.) and he said, oh that shouldn't be a problem - like it was no big deal. Most of the other recruiters I have talked to though, seem to think it is just fine as long as it doesn't show up on my record anymore. Hope this helps someone? And if anyone has more experience on the topic, please share! Thanks

Get the CBC. If clean, there's no need whatsoever to mention prior offenses.
