|
|
I love going to the Korean saunas as much as anyone, but on a couple of occasions, I have had Korean friends insist on sleeping in the sauna for no reason I can see. Once was in Busan and there was a nice sauna near my friend's apartment. We were going to go, but he said he didn't want to go unless we slept there. I couldn't understand, since his apartment was right next door. Why choose to sleep in a sauna when the apartment is right next door. I had a similar situation come up again with a friend here in Seoul, and it has me curious.
Is there some fun or health reason to sleep in a sauna when you have an apartment right nearby? I tried to ask about it, but it just seemed like common sense to my friends so there was no was nothing to explain. |

I've slept in the sauna to save money on a trip out of town. I probably would not have done it except I was with a Korean friend, and it was his idea. Alone, left to my own devices, I would have checked into a hotel. I'm certainly not sleeping anywhere when my apartment is next door without a darn attractive reason |

Your post has a simple explanation. You said

Assuming your Korean friend had never met or associated with your friend, then it would not even be a thought. Koreans practically would never agree to stay in the home of someone they were not closely associated with or related to. Since Koreans understand the Sauna culture and what it entails, there is no problem for them to spend the money for a night there, regardless of convenience or alternate accommodations in a situation like you described. Cheers |

Sorry about my poor use of pronouns. Both times were me and one Korean friend. Each time with a different friend. Once was in Busan and once was near my apartment.
I think your explanation is very true though, cheers. |

Yeah, you could sleep in a Korean sauna. Or you could jam your hand
up your rectum and pull out your intestines and strangle yourself with
them. About the same level of pleasure in my opinion. |

I once tried to go to a sauna and they refused to let me enter. They said I had to take off my clothes. Well, I pointed out that I am a chicken and I am not wearing any clothes. They then told me that for a chicken feathers counted as clothes. So I said, "Are you telling me to go pluck myself???? Well, pluck you.!!!" Then I left. |

They are good for getting sober clean and waking up for the subway.
I can also see it as a nice place to relax and get away from a small apartment that you are sick of. |

I heard many gay guys who don't want to put out on the first date like to sleep together in saunas. |

Fortunately, Stan's not a prude. I had a great time with a guy named Stan who I met in a sauna when I visited Jeju. He had a very nice apartment and was an ace power bottom. |
