"In a country still struggling to emerge from two decades of on-again, off-again recession, this foreign money is welcome. But it is often accepted through gritted teeth."

Part of me smiles imagining Japanese gritting their teeth while monitoring behavior, but I am also annoyed by people who go as far as barging in lines and spitting in front of me(not cuz the site but spray) etc...

I think Koreans fit somewhere closer to Chinese, but not quite as oblivious.
The trend in both Japan and Korea seems to be to cater to the Chinese. I wonder who is following who.

Brits, Irish, Yanks and Aussies all have crap tourists amongst their number.

The Russians make the Chinese look like the Finns.

reminds me of the anti-Korean protests on Tsushima. Because they drop so much litter.

Although the situation has changed a bit now, Koreans are buying up half the island.

Quote:
“The situation will continue to grow worse unless effective measures are taken” to rein in property purchases by South Korean businesses, said Mamoru Nishi, secretary-general of the tourist association.
