I'm grateful for the lack of pies in Korea. They would have ended me if I had stayed in England. Those tasty dirty pies.

I am in China - and they sell pies here in the canteen here and they are even better than pies back in England - they taste so good, think of a big eccles cake packed with mutton/beef/pork with peppers, onions and spices - taste so good, and at 30 pence a pop - better than any pie in England - or Scotland - I always enjoyed a mutton or a macaroni pie on my travels north of the border. Very Happy

Sadly, pies were absent at my local emart again today. Have to say I only had a couple of minutes to look around, but don't think I missed 'em. Crying or Very sad

Nice wine selection at Emart nowadays.

I'm usually able to get something reasonable-tasting every week for under man won.

It's the cereal here. Drives me batshit. Emart carries this great granola/dried fruit cereal called "Harris" or something for a measly 5000 won. Only, it's in stock for a few months, then out of stock for a few months, then in stock again. It's been this way for the past 2 or 3 years now. It's rage inducing. I've taken to buying multiple boxes of it at a time.

I've completely given up on the cheese. Once in a blue moon they'll have something that's not neon orange and actually affordable, but it won't be there for long.

In suwon at Vic Market, ive seen meat pies and fish sticks the past few months but when I went there this past sunday, there were not there. They seem to get rid of a lot of the foreigner foods after testing the waters for a few months to see if the product sells. Most koreans dont bat an eye at a lot of the products so I wait for it to go on sale. Three jars in a box of Old El paso hot salsa for 4000 won? I bought 10 boxes of it. The next month it was up to 10,0000 won a box. Id like to think I made a difference that day... Laughing

Bob at the Vic Market location in Suwon they have a DAMN good selection of cheese. Chedder, sharp chedder, mozarella, swiss, limberger, american, and pepper jack. Its like a complete cold shelf of cheese and dairy along with whipped cream (at 14,000 a bottle!) I dont know how cheese should be priced but for more of the exquisite cheese its about 9000 won for 30 slices in a package.

I went to Costco the other day and couldn't find any Sam Adams. They used to stock it but now its all Korean shite. I was devastated.
I've resorted to making bagels for my lunch.

Korea is consistent with it's inconsistencies. Their supply chain seems sloppy at best or maybe it's just customs c blocking them. Use to really tick me off. I think over the last year I've finally starting becoming more numb or zoned out or something.

So, remember kids,

Korea is consistent with it's inconsistencies.

The Kirkland bacon from Costco is no longer in stock. I'm devastated. I used to have cream cheese and bacon bagels. I was a happy chap. The pain from the disappearance of the pies was offset by my ability to have a delicious bagel with cream cheese and bacon.
Costco have different bacon but it's double the price. Or the other one is Korean style bacon which is garbage.

Also Homeplus no longer stocks the bag of lamb they used to have. I used to cook it on my george foreman grill then put it in the Tesco Tikka Masala sauce. It was a great lamb curry that I could enjoy in my house. It was cheap and spared me the experience of having to go out for takeaway. All they have now is the LA Galbi lamb and lamb in gochujang. Homeplus can shove their gochujang up their arse. And Costafuckinglot can do the same with their overprice bacon.
