| They're not alone. The last time I was in Incheon, some middle-aged Korean couple butted in line at the check in even with many people behind them telling them exactly where the end of the line was. A bunch of security showed up and started putting up barriers. The couple who butted in still got to check in an hour earlier than they would have otherwise. |

| Older Koreans tend to be butters in line, but the younger generation not as much. Of course, from what I hear, the Chinese are the kings in that dept. |

The young are just as bad and in some ways worse, especially on the subway. |

I saw that video. Things got pretty out of hand when the Chinese showed up.
And with so many in Korea banking on Chinese tourism to help the ailing economy, it's probably going to get worse before it gets better. |

You cannot compare Korea with China. Riding line 9 at rush hour, a strong competitor for the worst subway experience in the city, people still line up orderly and wait their turn with the exception of a few old folks on the odd day.
China. Don't even bother. Holy shit. Total nightmare. The Chinese make Koreans look like they're British-level queuers. |

The subway here is quite orderly, on the whole. It's the bus stops where people go nuts and just shove each other out of the way. Regardless of age, the bus stop is a free-for-all mosh pit compared to the subway.
The Chinese are becoming the new Americans. Overpaid, overfed and over here! It's cool to hate the Chinese now. |

Your definition of orderly is obviously different from mine.
The bus stops that I frequent now have dedicated lines and instructions to leave gaps. Few have the nerve to break in line these days. |

the incident occured in Jeju (the video above).
I think relatively speaking, the chinese who were featured in that video (mobbing the counter), were probably on their best behaviour.
The Chinese you see in China will literally riot just to get at complimentary food. |

A chinese guy cut in front of me at the bus ticket counter at incheon. I had to tell him that I was in line. He looked at me with complete confusion. I was still angry because I couldn't believe that he didn't know he shouldn't just walk in front of someone in line. I still don't believe it and think it was an act. Even after watching this video, I can't believe that they are oblivious. I feel a little bad for them after having to suffer from the cultural revolution and great leap forward. They have truly been through hell.

I completely agree about the bus lines. The women especially like to link arms 3 in a row and just mow down people and block them off from getting around them. I can understand though, who wants to stand up on a packed bus for 40 plus minutes? You gotta fight for those desired seats. |

I was thinking recently how bus stops need to implement such a system, because all the bus stops I go past on the way to work are crazy. People run towards the bus and make a beeline for the door. It drives me mad when they try to rush in through the side exit door while I am getting off.
As for the subway, it is heaven compared to Beijing. |

During peak times the buses are always mobbed. Why don't they start introducing double decker buses?
Just searched the internet and it looks like they are introducing double decker buses. Has anyone seen one yet? |
