The irritating part is that Koreans honestly think it is that easy to pull the wool over the foreigners eyes. |

This is one of the things that piss me off about a lot of Koreans. They think that we are that f^*&king stupid, and only prove how stupid they really are. |

By stating such an obvious falsehood, he is opening himself up for a world of hurt. A lot of people will be happy to prove him wrong and make him look like a complete fool. I guess that less people eat dogs than 10-20 years ago, but there are a lot that still like it.
It was only recently that the recuperating Ambassador Lippert was offered a steaming hot bowl of boshintang by a concerned Korean well-wisher. |

BS.
There's a place near my place in the middle of Seoul that will cook up dogs AND cats, and whatever else they can find to make soups/potions out of.
Forget what they call it in Korean, but a Korean friend told me they are fairly common, just usually off the main streets. |

My father-in-law eats dog soup. He has told me of 2 different restaurants that make the best. |

Koreans think they are stepping closer to civilization by stopping eating dogs, yet they still fail to get embarrassed about far more important criticisms?.
Like.. their crazy parking, the spitting, their habit of making excessive noise, or how foreign workers get ripped off and abused 24/7. |

Sadly, it sort of worked. The article was from 2014 before the Sochi Olympics. Maybe his damage control team can clue him in to this.
Koreans who like to eat dog should just say the truth and own it. "We enjoy eating dog. You're not the food police of the world. Come back to us when you stop eating factory farmed beef and pigs". They can form some circle jerk of defiant dead-enders that will over time get social media embarrassed out of mainstream young Korean culture who can start some netizen campaign of trashing dog eaters in the finest tradition of Korean extremist netizen online mob justice. |

SR: "Come back to us when" folks in the West start burning the hides off of the cows and pigs while they're still alive.
And before you ask if I eat meat, you can know I've been vegetarian for a long time. |

They should make cool dog meat dishes like dog meat burgers and dog meat sausages, who the hell wants to eat meat in a soup in any case, much better to grill it and make it nice and toasty and tasty. |

Ah, so all those European, African and South American countries that use different meats for burgers and sausages are overrun with 'hipsters'. I wish I could be a student in your class, it seems you have a lot of knowledge to impart upon young and impressionable minds. |

This would be difficult, considering I haven't been at the front of a classroom in years. In any case, the point seems to have been lost on you. |

The fact is that no one bats an eye at several European countries for commercially raising Horses (The 2nd longest and strongest animal symbiotic relationship humans have after the Dog, the Cat is 3rd) for meat.
Why draw the line between Dog and Horse? Last time I checked, Italy never goes through this during an Olympic bid/hosting. |

I don't think a lot of people realize that horse meat is readily available in Canadian supermarkets as well. |
