A Korean friend of mine had the corrective eye surgery done last week.
Since the surgery, her eyes have been burning. Now she claims her whole face feels like it's burning, which sounds weird, but she says the pain in her eyes makes her face feel like that too.
She can't go out during the day, and wears sunglasses sometimes in the evening -- bright lights from cars, etc., hurts.
The doctor told her that the pain should go away in a month.
Wonder what he basis that on?
She paid about 4 million for the surgery. |

That's why such risk of SIDE EFFECTS are clearly documented in the patient consent forms; it's a risk. Was she taking birth control pills ? Did she drink alcohol the night before surgery ? There are many things that can contribute to increased risk of side effects and the doctor should inform the patient what to do/rather not do and the patient has a responsibility to follow said instructions as well as volunteering 100% of drug, alcohol, and other life style behaviors that might be considered in the proper treatment.
Also, no offense, but you ask what he based that when saying pain should go away in a month ..... ummmmmm, from experience, the fact that he's a doctor who peforms the procedure and has patients that do have side effects, that's probably how he "basis" that on ..... that's how I was taught to provide feedback

I truly hope she gets better...
I had mine done last year for 2.2million and the results have been beyond my wildest imagination....the doctor I went to was excellent and was up to date on the latest techniques....did a, I think it is called, wave or radar mapping of my eyes and the computer adjusts for the contours needed to correct my vision...I had bad (-11 in one and -7.5 in the other) and my vision is about 20/15! in both eyes!!
I wish her the best but yeah, caveat emptor |

>. Hmmmmm ... my gf was considering having this done. Was aware of some of the side effects.
I guess she should give this some further consideration. Thanks for posting the discussion thread
( p.s. Friggin' extortion level rates for the surgery ... ) |
