When these all came at the same time in 1964, it was when Alaska had the second biggest Earthquake in modern history. And, since passover is based on the Lunar Calandar, it is know that the First Good Friday was also Passover/Full Moon. So.......? And of course, the 2004 Northern Sumatra Earthquake, third largest in modern history was Christmas/Full moon.
In any case, I will be out trying to chase the rain away to get a pic. of the full moon. Dern rain |

Well then it got so cloudy before sunset. I finally had enough and went up on the roof at 11:30 PM. I think this was a team effort between us both. First, because the sky was totally black, I let the full moon pull me to look where it was. Sure that I was look at the right spot, I said "Clouds Part". Then, they did, just enough to see the entire moon, get a fast pic, then the clouds reclosed. The pic, as usual, as you already know, when enlarged looks like your Avatar Pic. So, I had a feeling you were part of this. |

Nothing like a little team work to pull off a great lunar memory.

Sweet.
So we have the sun setting and the full moon rising at nearly the same time...happens every month.
And tonight, the percent illumination of the moon is 99.9%(near perfect full moon)
Which means tonight at 6:57...when the sun sets...look exactly in the opposite direction, and you will see the moon rising...but under a Total Lunar Eclipse. Wild.
(The moon rising time is 6:47pm)
We do have our work cut out for us though...forecast is calling for 'broken clouds'...again.
But hey...worked out last night. |

Of course, I am not 100% sure. However, I do believe that if the clouds/rain had not blocked the moon, Korea would have been hit with the biggest Earthquake in history, most likely caused by an asteroid, that would then have triggered from down deep a previously unknown super volcano that would have caused all life forms, with the possible exception of banana trees, to be totally killed off. |

As it happens, I got hit by a super-typhoon a couple days before the eclipse, & a couple neighboring islands did in fact lose all their banana trees along with much else. Morning of the typhoon, there was also a big quake in Papua New Guinea & a tsunami alert here. |
