| That is probably to finance all the blue hair that can be seen on the metro these days. More blue and grey than black. |

| That's it I'm getting a motorcycle, I don't care what my wife says. Half the bus drivers here can't drive anyway. They grind the gears, and jerk the bus back and forth. In Japan they don't drive like that. |

| Or everyone could drink one less beer during the week and have everything covered. For the service it provides, the price of the subway is very reasonable. |

Prices, on average since the 1930's, have doubled every 8 years. That's inflation. Think about how much a can of coke cost you 8 years ago from where ever you're from. It has probably come close to doubling in price. |

Makes sense as wages for English teachers here have doubled too in that time period. In 2007 the starting hagwon wage was 2.2 million a month. Now (albeit with more hours T T) it's 4.4. |

The government, in their infinite wisdom, ruled that old people get the subway for free. That is without giving Korail any money in exchange.
Now we all pay for it in higher fares and get guilt tripped for not giving a seat to a nonpaying customer.

You will pay for it.
If they want to balance the budget, the fares need to almost double. The trains are almost half seniors. On top of the gate crashers. No one left to pay.

For free? I don't care. During peak hours? No need for them to travel during that time. All the time they moan about being pushed or shoved in a packed subway train of commuters and try to maximize their space when none is available. Also, they are goddamn slow and get in my way when I am transferring between lines. |

I was just in the USA and Walmart was selling 2 liter bottles of Coca Cola for $1. I couldn't believe it. |

Wages tend to follow GDP growth trends. And economies of developed countries do not double in 8 years. |
