I used Google. Exactly 20 years old in that picture (assuming it's from the first Hunger Games movie...which was filmed in 2011). So she'd be a minor by U.S. standards in that she wouldn't be allowed inside a bar.

You're an odd one, WT. Definitely, interesting.

Too young to drink, but old enough to vote, get married, consent to sex, and enter into contracts.

One needs to be 21 to gamble. One needs to be 21 to purchase marijuana. One needs to be 21 to rent a car (and in most cases it's actually 25). Children are covered by their parent's health insurance until they turn 26. A person's brain doesn't stop developing until they are into their mid-twenties, meaning younger people (due to both that and a lack of experience) have worse judgement. But even so I highly doubt a hot 20 year old would jump at the chance to get with a middle aged ESL teacher...so I guess I needn't worry too much about the poor woman's safety... How would the public react if they saw a 20 year old holding hands with a guy more than twice her age (her father's age)? Would they think it is normal and healthy? Why? Or why not?

married guys thinking someone other than their wife is hot is pretty standard

So you comment on the sexiness of other women in front of your wife? And she is cool with it? Looks like a rather unorthodox marriage you've got going on. To me that seems crass, but maybe it's because I'm "prudish/immature/ignorant/inexperienced". Rolling Eyes Yeah, yeah, you're both not a stuffy conservative like I am; you're secure in yourself. In that case, I hope you won't mind me slagging off on Canada for a bit, while listing the reasons why the United States is superior. That won't hurt your feelings/ be in poor taste at all, right?

yet able to consent to sex which is what everyone is dancing around here. Are you actually this stupid or is this just an act you're trying to put on for this thread?

Yes. I guess it would technically not be illegal for an older married guy to have an affair with a 20 year old...but it would be unethical. Ashley Madison: legal, but scummy and sleazy. Many things in the world are like that.

What ethics are we talking about? Most historians reckon Joseph was in his 40s when he married Mary, probably aged around 13-14 so I'm not sure it'd come from our Christian background.

One would imagine that all that World Travelling would make one less judgemental and more accepting of opinions other than their own. Ironic, really.

Yes. Because I travelled to other countries that means I'm not allowed to believe it's immoral for a guy to cheat on his wife. Saying so makes me judgmental and close-minded. Yeah, man, sure. Rolling Eyes When people resort to ad hominem attacks / try to make an issue out of my name, it means they don't have much of an argument themselves or anything interesting or insightful to say. (Pretty common on here actually.)

Morality is not universal. What if I said I think being gay, or smoking weed is immoral? And what if I said it without anything to back up my entirely subjective conjecture? Some people might consider that ignorant or facetious at best. Think before you speak, man.

Historians say that? They were real people? (Some people in the Bible may have been real but with miracles falsely attributed to them.) Muslim dudes today (old men) marry girls that age and younger. Not cool. Disgusting really. I've already stated I believe all religion is superstition. http://skepticsannotatedbible.com
Who's done more to help the world than anyone else? Bill Gates and Warren Buffet (at least in terms of monetary donations). Neither of which are religious.

Then I'd say you're Saudi Arabian...or Korean. Islam is stupid. It's an archaic belief system.

Perhaps you need to travel more. It might help you open your mind a bit more. I don't mean that derisively either.

Most Americans support the legalization of marijuana (and it is in fact already legal in some places).

Most Americans support gay marriage.

Most Americans do NOT think cheating on one's spouse is OK. And most have never done it.

Perhaps 3 to 4 percent of husbands and wives have a sexual partner outside their marriage in a given year, said Mr. Smith, director of the center's General Social Survey.

But yeah I guess morality is not universal. I wonder what would happened if Koreans were asked in a survey, "Which do you consider more unethical- cheating on your wife with a prostitute or trying marijuana?"

Cultural difference.

I guess I don't understand what you are saying. Your point's not very clear. I don't mean that derisively either.
