It's Jim Ross' personal choice to tolerate or not tolerate jokes made against himself.

UT and even Paul Bearer's family stated that they were okay with the urn/ashes bit, when asked in advance.

Did you ask Lawler if it was okay to poke fun at his heart attack? Do you make fun of the victims of the Sewol? Cancer victims? Sheesh man, show some compassion.

I see that many on this board are right about you.

Any apology laden with the word 'if' is insincere.

As opposed to your "outrage" which was sincere?

Jerry Lawler recovered and is fine. Would I make the same joke about say, Fabrice Muamba or Jiri Fischer? No. We're dealing with pro wrestling here though. An industry that is known for ridiculous story lines, bad taste in nearly everything it does, and an owner who has a bit of a controlling history and a "show must go on" attitude.

Anyways, I half mentioned it because the Opie and Anthony radio show did a memorable 20 minute bit where they went into the whole Jerry Lawler incident and were making jokes about the whole thing. Many, many wrestlers and also Jim Ross have visited the show before and after the incident. None of them had a problem. If Jim Ross didn't have a problem with people making jokes, I don't think you should.

For effs sake, WWE had CM Punk pretending to pour out Paul Bearer's ashes on the Undertaker and exploited Eddie Guerrero's death.

Anyways, enough of you. Back to the jokes.

Yes, everytime someone makes a joke about a public figure, they should first call that person on the phone to make sure it was okay.

Like I said, a pair of very famous radio hosts made fun of the whole thing for 20 minutes and neither Jerry, JR, or WWE had an issue with it. They didn't ask anyone ahead of time.

Should Mel Brooks or Jerry Seinfeld get permission from the families of all 6 million Holocaust families when they make a Nazi joke? Should virtually every every comedian alive be in trouble for making jokes about 9-11/rape/domestic violence/suicide/cult deaths/tragic celebrity deaths/etc.?

Lighten up Francis.
