Not too complain about Koreans or anything, but does anyone know why they (mostly girls I guess) seem to always complain about the weather. 19C is too cold, but 21 is hot. Is this just talking to make small talk? On the other hand, many people seem to be completely oblivious to noise. Last week I sat in a cafe where they played the same exact song for 2 hours. When he asked them to change it, they looked befuddled. |

The Korean intonation rarely strays from the vituperative. Complaining is a way of life. |

My wife says she doesn't even realize she's doing it. Case in point, yesterday we were out and about all day Sunday and that's all she was saying. Then on the bus home she was complaining about how she hated summer because it was so hot. |

They have a very close relationships with the weather. You'll notice how as soon as they go outside the first thing they'll say is it's hot, it's cold, or it's windy.
Maybe it's all the physical science they study in high school. |

Well that's probably because their skirts get much, much shorter. |

I noticed this a few days ago when I was walking around the neighborhood. It wasn't just one or two oddballs wearing their coats in 24 Celsius temperature. There must have been at least 100 people wearing coats of the probably 1000 people I saw. I can understand if it's an old person sitting in the shade, but these were from various age groups and they were strolling along in the direct sun. Some of the people who were wearing coats were even using parasols to block the sun and heat. It's like the students who sit in class wearing their coats and complaining about it being 20 Celsius and too hot. It's just retarded. |

I know a lot of teenage girls will wear jackets under all conditions... because they are pretty self conscience about their new found appearance. |

I don't understand why stating that it is hot, cold, or windy is strictly something annoying that only Koreans do. I know just about every American does the same freakin' thing back home. It isn't something strange that "Koreans" do. I think that most people in the world state the obvious like that.
I've noticed that I will wear a light jacket in warmer weather here as opposed to back home because I'm outside longer. I'm not just going from a building to my car and only spending 5 minutes outdoors. Plus, I work in the afternoon, but finish at night when it is colder. It's just troublesome to carry my jacket in my arms instead of just wearing it even though I'm a bit warm. |

That's either complete BS or everyone you know is a simpleton.
Poor baby--that coat's so heavy. |

Simply stating that it's cold out is normal, and most people leave it at that. My wife walks along saying cold every ten seconds it seems like, that my friend, is not normal. |
