For all the hype about Korea's importance in the movie, it wasn't really much. On Thursday before I saw it someone was telling me that the producers chose Korea as the main location becuase they understood Korea's rising place in the world and they wanted to make Korean cinema goers happy. I just nodded and smiled.

The movie itself was OK. 6.5-7/10. The lat act wasnt bad. So the implication from the last scene was the next avengers movie is not going to feature Ironman, Hulk or Thor? Just Captain Boring and those newbs we saw? That should go over well.

Or the Korean government paid the movie studio 4 million dollars to film in Seoul.

Everything has been leading up to Infinity War and I'm guessing that it'll be all hands on deck for it including the crew from Guardians.

Too long, too many characters, forced comic moments that weren't funny and a sappy romantic subplot. And that Korean actress was so wooden I thought termites would start crawling out of her mouth.

Get with the program - THE movie was AMAZING and -Claudia Kim steals show in `Avengers'- (this is a headline from Korea Times - alas, that article is no longer accessible, I guess even the KT editors thought that trolling too much would reflect badly on the great reputation of their amazing/best ever/most prestigious newspaper).

Yep, this movie will be remembered for eternity and there is no doubt that Seoul was the main highlight of the film (other than Claudia Kim, of course) @@

Ahh, let them have it. I know my province in Canada, Newfoundland, makes a huge fuss over anything that's filmed there.

For its part, the JoongAng Daily seems to be taking a more reasoned approach (as it usually does) regarding Korea being a filming location.
