Good day.
Within this year, I'd like to read 12 books worth reading, by authors of different nationalities, of books that have been translated into English. I need the books to be available in a major bookstore in Seoul or though an online order through one of them. I've read works by Paulo Coelho and Khaled Hosseini and am currently reading something by Haruki Murakami. Can anyone recommend some good titles?

I'm having the same problem. I even messed around with the formatting and still no dice. Odd. |

Just curious but why the preference for books which have been translated into English? |

No particular reason, but I guess mainly because I don't feel that I've read that many.

Thank you for the additional recommendations. The following three look particularly interesting:
Angela's Ashes, by Frank McCourt (Irish-American). (Irish culture though in English).
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, by Harumi Murakami (Japanese).
László Krasznahorkai, Satantango
I will get one of those after I complete the Haruki Murakami novel that I'm currently working on. |
