Arby's- Best fries in fast food
White Castle- Delicious trash
Denny's- Crappy food, but you'd get Denny's fights you could post on World Star
Jimmy John's- Fast and decent. It'd do well with the Korean crowd
Nando's- All my friends from SA always go on and on about Nando's.
Rally's & Blimpie- SE Michigan fast food shout out

What would rock most of all is the salad bar at Whole Foods.

You can tell this is sort of an old-timer thread. No one is mentioning Five Guys or Smashburger or any other of that new stuff.

Steelrails are you from SE Michigan? I am and I love me some Rally's.

Yup Dirty Glove.

It's not a chain, but some Vernor's and Faygo in Korea would be nice. Little Caesar's is usually crap, but for some reason their Greek salad is really good.

Denny's was in Korea back in the 90's had 2 locations I knew of one Gangnam and one at the Savoy Hotel in Myeong-dong, what was odd was it had a bar, imagine getting a Bloody Mary with your Grand Slam breakfast in the states? How many fights would that cause at 1AM?

Wendy's and Hardees were also around then. Remember Wendy's being in that triangle shaped store at the Gwanghwamun intersection and Hardees being down the street in the Youngpyeong Bookstore.

When they left I didn't miss them but man I went nuts when Dairy Queen and Schlotzky's left. Nice thing was there is a Dairy Queen in the departure area at Swampy Airport so I didn't have to go entirely cold turkey

Vernor's is good stuff. Never tried Faygo.

I'd say more franchises have failed than succeeded here in Korea, including Kenny Rogers' Roasters, Schlotzky's and a host of others. I've heard a lot abut how Korea is so unfriendly to foreign fast food franchises and such plus the big cost of setting them up here. I remember I knew a tax lawyer whose company was considering buying the Asian rights to Boston Market (formerly Boston Chicken) but felt the price tag was too high.

If Seoul wants to truly be a cool and cosmopolitan city, it needs leading franchises.

I think to be a cool and cosmopolitan city, less franchises are needed. I mean, is a tourist going to come to Korea and say, wow a Wendy's and an Arby's!

Less franchises, would be cooler. What Korea needs is something uniquely Korean that tourists would like. But for most Koreans, it has to be something new. Two people looking at the same thing differently.

The only two franchises I really see in Korea succeeding is McDonald's and Starbucks. Starbuck more so than McDonald's though. Almost every municipality has a Starbucks now, if not all. Only the bigger municipalities have McDonald's.

Chick Fil A. Don't Ks love fried chicken? Not much better fast food wise than their sandwiches and nuggets. The owner of the brand is a Christian religious nut as well, so that would have some appeal.

Define SE Michigan.

I'm from somewhere in that area and I love Rally's also!

I'd love a White Castle. I'd even settle for the frozen White Castle burgers in a grocery store somewhere.

I'm from the Royal Oak, Berkley area in Oakland County.

I would have laughed at that years ago. I'm not laughing now.

Funny you say that, it's such a crap little burger but sometimes I crave them real bad. Last time I went home I stopped at White Castle and had 4 double cheese sliders then went to bed shortly after. I woke up from a dead sleep 4 hours later with horrible stomach pains. I was seriously concerned until I remembered I ate, I blew the toilet out and went back to bed. Ah, White Castle, how I miss you....

I think Wolfhound in Itaewon serves its breakfast all day, and it's got enough eggs, bacon, sausages, and beans to satisfy me for month.

A better option is Al Matto's all-day brunch that's both good and a good value. Al Matto is in Haebangchon.

Anyone ever find breakfast sausages? Breakfast is pretty easy to cook at home. You'd have to be an idiot to mess it up really. But I've never seen breakfast sausage.

Al Matto's brunch has it, though I haven't been there in a long while.
