It's their word against hers. Usually nothing comes about from a "he said, she said" beef. And as for the crappy pizza, she really should go elsewhere and find a better pizza company. That's what the 'free market' is about.

The tradition of customers informing businesses of their displeasure and giving the businesses a chance to make amends benefits both the business and the customer. Surely she will go elsewhere in the future, but coming to the business with her concern was reasonable, and the business responding by filing an evidently fraudulent police report against her was not only cruel, but I believe even outright illegal.

So if you order a 16 oz. Porterhouse served medium rare and someone gives you an 8 oz. piece of rump roast cooked to a cinder, you should just take your business elsewhere? Especially if you'd gone to that restaurant before and gotten good service but one day you show up in a hijab and get that?

A complaint is perfectly reasonable.

Yes. Worst style of pizza I've ever had. I have also (fortunately) have never found it outside St. Louis.

For a Muslim being the way that they are, rude customer service could be the least of their worries. The ingredients tray used on her pizza could accidently contain pork ingredients. Maybe she would get consigned to a group of 70 virgins with a nasty male faithful because of that.

I've served MANY Muslim pizza customers. Most of them understand that things aren't 100% by the book as far as Halal goes, but they ask for reasonable measures- No pork products directly on the pizza and a clean knife being used to cut the pizza. I was happy to accommodate them. We make pizzas made to order and cleaning the knife takes 30 seconds. That is what a restaurant is supposed to do. There is NO justification for serving someone an undertopped pie simply because they are Muslim. There is not justification for that period. A customer orders a pizza made to order, we make it order. Every customer deserves the same toppings. Now, there are some games we pull on crappy tippers and people who are rude (I've mentioned serving big tippers first before. I've mentioned serving blatantly rude customers with a pizza that was delivered by holding it out the car window while we drove to them) but deliberately serving a bad product because of their religion is flat out wrong. Muslim customers deserve the same service as Jewish or vegetarian customers.

If she was a vegetarian or Kosher and the store treated her this way, would you say she should just "go somewhere else"? No.

This is a bit of a generalization, but some of the people here who shrug at her treatment would throw a temper tantrum if they got one less french fry at Lotteria than a Korean and would scream racism.
