|
|
I saw the following ad in craigslist. Has anyone heard of this company? Would you reply with a passport scan? Is this company for real? Something smells fishy. Why?
(1) After I applied to the job, they replied asking for a scan of my passport. Could this be phishing?
(2) Salary is too high for class size;
(3) They claim to raise the salary b/c urgent for teachers but they've posted the same ad with the same wording for the past few weeks on craigslist

This seems like a scam. I think there are a lot of fishing/identity theft scams on the Craigslist job boards. They have offices in many Korean cities they say? I have never heard of them until now. Agencies are not paying 60,000 an hour these days for the most part. I wouldn't be sending them any personal info if I were you. |

You should counter by offering an ARC scan but only in a face to face meeting.
Only for teachers with no criminal records? They do not have the jurisdiction to check. Maybe remind them that you could not get a visa here if you did not have a clean record.
60K is not low for pay. It is decent. |

Those companies charge 50k per hour per student. 60k is low if you are talking about 3-4 students |

Yes...BUT...the recruiters are paying 30K an hour for teachers then pocketing the difference. NETs are dumb enough to take it. That's why the going rate is low (and dropping). |

true some of the time but not always. carrot english are bad these days for cutting themselves off at the knees, charging 50-55k an hour per class in order to bankrupt their competition. their pay rates are 37k an hour these days. |
