I almost bought a place in Songdo but chose Jeju instead.
It looks like these places are turning out to be a success after all. I remember so many people saying it would be a disaster. I guess they were wrong. |

Moving to Cheongna at the end of this month. Scoped it out a few times, found a great place at a great price (jeonsae) and couldn't pass it up considering the cheonsae for my place (small 2BR/1BA) in Kyungnidan just went up 50 million won. |

Meh, I've explored prices in Cheongna a bit and they're not that low to justify moving that far from Seoul. |

If my girlfriend and I didn't work in Seoul then I would happily live in an area like Songdo.
Nice wide roads, more greenery than usual, modern apartments, lower house prices, nearer airport. There's a lot to like. Start your own little hagwon and get a jump on the competition. |

"So many" as in two or three posters here?
The situation has change quite a lot since then:

“interest rate cut and lifting property rules led the housing market in Songdo, Cheongna to bottom out for a rapid recovery.” He added, “the ratio of jeonse deposit to apartment sales price exceeded 70 percent. Skyrocketing two-year lump sum deposit jeonse prices are affecting the sales prices.” |
It's funny how owning an apartment has turned you into an RE expert. |

Nothing makes a liveable city like a nice, wide road.
You couldn't pay me enough to live in these dumps. |

Do you have some hard stats on buying / renting prices? |

Hard stats do not exist. Valuations fluctuate all the time and you really need to visit a real estate office. Sometimes good deals pop up suddenly. Properties need to be inspected as well. These things cannot be done properly from behind a computer. It requires footwork. |

Jeonsae has gone crazy everywhere. |
