I just got a new passport. Do I need to tell immigration? My ARC is linked to my now out-of-date passport. Any ideas? I just hate going there and waiting for ages. |

Yes, you need to tell immigration about your new passport.
You do not have to wait if you make an appointment on the HiKorea.go.kr website - it's in English, but you do need to use internet explorer. Print off the appointment confirmation and go straight to the front of the line. In and out in probably 10 minutes. |

To add, within 2 weeks of issue. Or risk a big fine. |

I actually did it online through the HiKorea site when I received my new passport. I think I had to do it on the Korean side, but with a little help it is possible and you don't have to go to immigration. |

I just printed off the main form from immigration and faxed it in with the new info and a photocopy of the info page from my passport. If it goes through successfully you get a confirmation page faxed back from immigration right away. Don't bother going to an office. |
