Are there any special documents to show the NPS? I know I have to bring my contract, but it still has about 5 months on it. I'm leaving my job at the end of this month so I want to avoid any confusion. Is there something I should ask my boss for before I head to the pension office? A letter from him stating my end date perhaps? |

Something to confirm cessation of employment would help facilitate the process - otherwise they will just wait for you to leave the country and send your refund to your home country bank account.

I wonder if they can refund you prior to receiving the last months remittance from your employer. Maybe they'll wait for that last contribution. |

I was really hoping to collect it at the airport as I want to try to return after a few days and apply for a D-10 visa (as some others have done successfully) but now I'm afraid this may put my plan in jeopardy. |

NPS is supposed to wait a set number of days before they pay you and that payment is only after there is confirmation from Immigration that you have not returned to South Korea during that time. When you file your claim on your way out of Korea, simply ask the folks at NPS when you will get paid. |
