|
|
I want to teach in South Korea in the future, but I fear that my legal situation will prevent me from doing so. I've had some misdemeanors on my record in the past that I had expunged about a year ago. I also have one public intoxication charge on my record that I'm currently in the process of getting expunged. My question is, does it matter if I've had these convictions expunged, or will I still be considered criminally inadmissible to South Korea? I understand that they require a copy of an FBI background check, but so far I haven't been able to get any straight answers as to whether expunged convictions show up on this. If anybody could shed some light on my situation I would greatly appreciate it. |

They all have to be expunged or else they will pass you by for employment. Also make sure that the FBI has expunged your record, as well as the individual States. You will have to obtain a record check from the FBI and see what is on it and if it's not expunged then contact the FBI and ask them how to get it expunged, which they basically will do once the state expunges it. |
