Just my two cents. The Koreans in the movie are portrayed as crude, drug smuggling, woman beating Neanderthal ajosshis.

Oh, so it's a documentary? Razz

Laughing Korean males were chosen because they didn't need any training to act the part.

Saw this movie back home about a month ago. It's decent, but by no means a must see. FWIW there weren't any subtitles during the Korean parts, so I wouldn't expect it in Korea either.

I actually watched it on DVD this week and to my surprise I enjoyed it. But boy does it make Korean men look bad. I'm sure Koreans weren't pleased about this at all.

Last week I also watched Birdman. "Everything smells like f#@king kimchi." They can't have been pleased with that either.

Then the disappointment over Seoul's depiction in the new Avengers movie. Koreans crave after a larger international profile, but I'm pretty sure it's not going as planned. Even within the US in the past week alone we've had "Nailgate." Three months ago it was Heather Cho and the "nut rage incident."

And that's just the news from 'South' Korea. Confused

This movie was so ludicrous, I'm not sure even Koreans could take offense at their portrayal in it. To their credit, there doesn't seem to have been any.

Unlike Birdman, which did cause a minor stir. Which is kind of stupid, Koreans will be the first to tell you that kimchi does indeed smell terrible. If it didn't, they wouldn't need a second kimchi refrigerator in every home and poor Dimchae would go out of business.

If that were the case, we'd be watching "Under the Skin" which frequently features her in the buff. It's a pretty lousy, overly artsy flick though. Some cool ideas ruined by long, tedious shots of falling show and Scottish countryside. Her wrecking shit with her brain is far more entertaining.
