Hi all,

I will be beginning my 4th semester of my MA program here in Korea. As such, I hold a D2 visa. My question is will it be possible for a hangwon to sponsor me for an E2 visa, allowing me to switch? Sorry, I tried searching but I couldn't find any answers matching my situation.

This is my final semester, so I will only be responsible for writing my thesis and not taking courses. I'm currently prepping for the TOPIK exam, needing to get a 5 or 6 in order to apply for the F2-7 visa. But I'd like to start working full time ASAP.

Will employers trash my application once they see the D2 visa status?

Not sure if it is relevant, but I worked for a year at CDI before starting grad school in 2014. So I've held an E2 visa before.

Thank for any advice.

Lots of stuff but nothing really relevant.

If you have previously held an E2 then yes, you can change back to an E2.
Depending on when you were on the E2 you may or may not need to get a new CRC.
It has nothing to do with your D2 status.

Can you complete your studies (write your thesis) while working on an E2 = yes.
It is a non-issue unless your uni wants you to formally add the extra activity (student) to your sojourn as a teacher.
Just fill in the form at immigration to add an activity not related to your status of sojourn but I have never heard of anyone being made to do it in the past.

Did you see the announcement on the class-action suit? You might have some money coming to you from CDI.
