Where have you popped up from, out of nowhere?

Anyway, you won't have much luck here. Sadly, the Korean forum at Dave's has a staunchly reactionary conservative user base.

I would call it "highly programmed" ...these are people who will move through this life experience and never question anything and will ridicule those who see illusions for what they truly are. But they are products of a system...I was too. I hope there will a come a time when they start to move outside the narrow range of thought that has been imposed upon them and begin to search for truth....

I posted here when I was younger..I think around 2005 or such when I first arrived in Korea. Back then obviously I shared a lot of these guys sentiments...so I can understand where they're coming from.

Oops...sorry I mean..."yeah so its hard to find work out here because I am not a white, blonde North American female. Jeez its hard to get a university job that pays over 2.1 these days. Oh when will the glory days return in ESL Korea. China is where its at nowadays". Did I leave something out???

Quit your job whenever it makes you happy. Sit around and breath the free oxygen and think about how those steaks use to taste.

Yes I will be sitting around..breathing the invisible oxygen, thinking about the imaginary steaks I could be eating whilst lamenting the fact that I have no imaginary money to purchase them with. Wooden Nickels..for all your obtuseness and dodging the question..you do realize that all the money in this world equals debt and that it has no real value. You do know how money is created right?

Even if we eliminate debt money there would still be gold. Gold would be money.

Would that be an end to “slavery”

No it wouldn't. Paper/digital currency hasn't been backed by Gold or silver in quite a long time. Most of the gold is already in the hands by those who control 한국은행, IMF, World Bank, FRB, Bank of International Settlements...Etc..Etc. Government issued money sans interest would be a move into a positive direction. Abraham Lincoln and JFK tried that in the US...but we know what happened to them. There are some who propose a "resource based" economy as a viable solution as well...

Confused Laughing

Money is of course imaginary, it's only valuable because people, willingly or otherwise, think it is. Same goes for gold and other precious metals.

It is, to borrow a boring and over-used phrase, a social construct.

Not sure this invisible oxygen is a social construct though....
