I just bought a car and notice that fuel prices are similar the UK. As this is the country where savings can be had with the right card from the right bank for almost everything, is there a method to save money when filling up? Which petrol station? Paying with which card? From which bank? I dont live in Seoul, but do live in a city. Thanks in advance. |

Nope. Much like gasoline in any other country, you're going to pay just about the same price no matter where you get it. The best you can do is some kind of points on a credit card none of which ever really add up to much. |

Mostly credit cards give discounts. Some check cards too. I know that NH has check cards wich you can use at GS Caltex pumps.
Either credit or debit card, you should spend 200-500k a month with that card (not on gas, anything else) in order to get the discount. Usually it's around 40krw/l but can be up to 100/l with some platinum, gold etc. cards.
Imo, you can save more by locating the cheapest pump close to your house or on the way you usually drive. Refer to opinet.co.kr for real-time prices all around the country. |
