A quick question about hair for teachers who have been in Korea: I have my hair shaved into a sidecut right now (half the head shaved, the other half regular long length) and I quite like it. I know some schools in the U.S. dislike teachers having strange hairstyles - is it the same in Korean schools? Should I begin growing it out, or does it not matter as much?
If you need a visual reference, I used this photo while getting it shaved and it's the same exact cut:

Thank you very much. |

It depends on the school....but yeah most schools won't allow you to wear your hair like that. |

I think it looks nice. But, like, if schools in the US are giving you a hard time with it, I doubt it'll be better here.
You might grow it out prior to being hired and then cut it like that afterwards....but you might have a hard time finding a stylist here that will cut your hair like that anyway. And your contract is for a year... So, there's that to consider, too.
I'm a guy and I have a hard time fining a stylist/barber willing to give me a simple buzz cut. They just refuse to do it.
Maybe you can turn your head to one side during the interview and after you're hired... show the other side.
Good luck! |
