The maximum length of stay is 2 years, but I was wondering if it were possible to indefinitely renew your visa as long as you had a job.
Is there a maximum number of times you can renew it?
Thanks! |

As facetious as this thread sounds it actually depends.
Are you a university professor?
Tenure is not granted to expat professors by their respective universities, in most situations, therefore they'd need to change jobs every 5 years or so. |

Provided your employment (not necessarily the same employer) is continuous you can extend your status of sojourn on an E2 up to 40 times (40 years) at which point you will age out and need to change your status to F2 or F5.

Thanks for the answers, that's really helpful to know! I work at a hagwon, and I'm renewing my visa/ARC for the first time and I saw maximum length of stay is two years, so I wondered if there was a renewal limit.
Thanks! |

Sure there is. When you die of old age you can no longer be a teacher on an E2.
Renewals are typically 1-year at a time. E2s are usually NOT extended for 2 years.
