So I've suddenly found myself with about a week off (gotta love senior year graduation trip) and I'm off to Gyeongju. It's my second time there, but I haven't been in about four years or so, so I'm sure things have changed considerably. I'm wondering if anyone has some tips on where to stay and evening possibilities (eg. a place to go for a cold one).

The last time there I stayed at Hanjin yeogwan, and it was a grotty dump. I'd appreciate any tips on other places. I'll be by myself, so any advice on where to go in the evenings to have a few with some of the locals would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Indy

Thanks for the website info ... but I've checked all these things. I was looking for more personal experiences.

Thanks anyway.

I recommend riding around a bike. there were a couple of rent-a-bike shops across the road from the bus terminal for about 10 000 won a day. There are a lot of bike tracks and it is a nice place to do it. Out to Bulguksa and back.

I just walk up to the nearest love motel. They're great for the price you pay.

Seukaram and Bulguksa are the big attractions there, I'd take a pass on the royal tombs. The Lake there has some nice places to walk around in....renting a bike is a great idea....

Drinking? Not sure....I generally just picked the closest hof.
