SparX: probably not. For me, the chatline is all about honest exchange of information, not making pals. If I was going to meet all of you regularly on a social basis, that would inhibit me on here and I'd have to watch what I said. I don't want to avoid criticising whoever because they're 2 feeet taller than me and might whack me at the next waygook bash.
Actually there is some truth to this.. as its true that occassionally i wonder.. hmm.. do i really want to go to the next get-together.. i'm sure i've pissed someone off somewhere along the line.. but for some reason.. well, i've only been to one a couple months ago.. but its just kind of funny/wierd/bizarre experience to meet the others on here.. its kind of like your first trip to thailand.. you've read so much about it.. you don't totally know what to expect.. but everyone is completely different than how you imagined.. but once you meet them.. it just kind of 'fits' somehow.. totally weird experience.. and highly recommended Rapier! you should try it next time..

actually i was thinking of 'not' going to remain anymous to those who haven't met me.. but it was alot of fun last time.. i nice change from the usual routine.. (which is drinking and hanging out with friends).. but a change in that its a different group of 'social friends' i guess you'd say..

tiger beer,

i saw you in the t'won the other night. i was about to go up to you (you were with some lads) and say "it's me denz!". decided against it. thought it would be lame to call you "tiger beer" since i'd forgotten your name.

i fully plan on calling tiberious aka sparkles by his full moniker though. it's the only way.

Having done that myself, I highly recommend it...you can't find a more approachable guy. Wink

So why did you stop having these eslcafe "get-to-gethers" anyway? I remember at the time when they were held every few months and the pictures from them were put up on here the next day. Y'all looked like a buncha drunken fools at a bacchanal.(Certainly not "teachers")

Just go to Itaewon any Friday night and shoot some pool. Buy a round and shake some hands.

Most of those "cool" and active posters left Korea, no one tried to organize one for a while, Facebook and such. Now, the idea is so foreign to the board that attempts to revive it are met with crickets, basically.

Which is kind of a shame because it was a great way to augment one's circles of friends at the time. Plus everyone knew everyone else so it was (slightly) harder to Keyboard Warrior your way through your posts. People still disagreed (kiwiboy lol) but it was a lot less "I WILL WIN THE INTERTUBES LEL"

And that's precisely why I think it would bomb now. Too much venom between many regulars - of which there aren't many to begin with. FOBs tend to migrate elsewhere. I get the feeling it wouldn't be a very welcoming atmosphere, given current circumstances.
