 Posted: Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:20 pm Post subject: Just got my E2 but employer is now asking for CRC and Dip |

So I picked up my E2 visa(ARC) on Friday. I was on a D-10 for a couple months before getting this job. My health check is done also.
My employer says it's the "Education Board?" who need my CRC and Diploma. I was only out of the country for 2 months while on a D10 so why would they need a CRC? She's not sure if they need a new one or if my old one from 2013 will suffice. It all sounds weird to me. I've got my E2...I thought I was done jumping through hoops.
Anyone know if this is possibly correct? My boss is a constantly confused simpleton.

| Sounds like a done deal. I'd give them a copy of the diploma, but not the original. |

Maybe it's because I switched cities when I switched jobs. Hopefully they aren't asking for a "new" CRC.

Yep, I have to supply a background check every year for my MOE in Suwon. The first year I was in Suwon, I got a copy of my CRC from immigration. Cost me 20 won. Every year since, because I haven't left the country for more than 90 days, I have to get a Korean CRC done for the MOE.
Some MOEs are really sticklers for this, others don't seem to care. When I was in Daejeon, those folks didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Anyway, your department of education will ask for stuff, but you just get copies at immigration to take to them. No worries. |

Get copies of the ones on file at immigration FROM immigration.
They are adequate for the MOE registration.

6-months old for your countries' CRC in Korea??
On the same topic. How long you've been here OP? A Korean police check might work.
You've been around here on this board a bit OP. Were you snoozing?
But yeah, teacher's have needed a second CRC for their municipal board for a while now - since 2013?? Maybe a couple years at least.
I still have multiple copies of my apostilled diploma and transcripts from where I was in Korea. Still keep them just in case I have an urge to go back. |

On the same front, how long can we be out of the country before we need a new CRC?
I was in my country only 4-6 weeks and then came to China (here since duration).
Would I need to produce a CRC rom my country for the small time outside of Korea?? |

Out of Korea for more than 90 days and you need a new CRC from home with the apostille affixed.

For instance, someone goes to their country for more than 90 days after being in Korea for 1 year, is that CRC invalid? |

CRCs must land on the desk no later than 6 calendar months from date of issue.
6 months + 1 day = get a new one.
If you are out for more than 90 days then you need a new one regardless of where you were outside of Korea.

Ttom,
Perhaps I should put it more clearly.
I got the part about the being out of country.
What I'm saying is that immy will always have our previous CRC's on file. Are they scrapped after a certain period of inactivity? (I guess they have been scanned and stored on a server somewhere.) They hold them for posterity? |
