I believe this is inclusive of the Busan bust. Interesting to note that not only English language (132) but Chinese language (120) instructors were caught. A total of 15 nationalities represented.

A link to an article about it or something would be nice.

Are we just supposed to take your word for it?

The Ministry of Justice caught 254 foreign language instructors through the Korea Immigration Service in the past month, it said Wednesday.

Most were engaged in illegal private lessons. Others were caught teaching at private academies, kindergartens or elementary schools without a license.

yeah, no mention of anyone being hurt, in fact I'd assume they were helping people learn.

It's like a Monty Python skit. It makes as much sense as arresting people for masturbation.

No one is hurt when you collect rain water. Yet in certain areas of a certain country that is illegal.

Korea has a law. Everyone knows it. Every country also has similar laws. My wife wasn't allowed to Bar tend or be a waitress when she lived in another country. Whiny E2's can't do this here.

Nice article. So illegal to have a pond? Store water? Still you need to follow those laws.

Just because other countries have ridiculous laws, that doesn't make the illegal teaching law any less ridiculous.

Actually, I think the prohibition on waitressing and bar tending is to try to prevent sex worker trafficking. So I believe there is a point to that one.

So she couldn't work in a market, or as a taxi driver or a teacher or a everything. If your visa isn't the right type. Every country in the world won't let you work.

Now if you are arguing that that should be different I can get behind that argument. However as it stands Korea's law isn't anything special.
