Ok! a couple of questions about this outfit and nothing to do with the immigration bust but it may overlap.

I have an F6 visa and I'm in my late forties, fully qualified and experienced etc etc. I signed up with this outfit after the drama in Busan thinking this would be a good opportunity to get some extra work.

Since i signed up with them 7 weeks ago, I've had one job, one night a week. I've been offered 3 other jobs but its clashed with my schedule, even though they know my schedule, go figure!

Therefore, I phoned one of them tonight and asked is there a preference for young females in Busan? Is this the reason I don't get work? The answer I got back was "we match what the company wants". Ok! try again with the same two questions.

At this point I'm met with, well! frankly speaking rudeness and arrogance and they won't answer the question.

My question to you fellow Teflers is: Are there any older teachers working for them and what are your impressions/experiences?

Or are there any younger teachers working for them and what are your impressions/experiences?

Thanks.

Care to explain this one?
It seems obvious enough that there would be less competition as most people would have learned to avoid a company with such questionable ethics and behavior.
Why did you think it was a good idea?

Seems a bit odd is all.
A house slave gets beaten to death by the master of the house. A field slave thinks this is a good time to apply for that job.
It is an opportunity, but perhaps not such a good one.

"Why did you think it was a good idea?" Well! as I said, I thought it would be good opportunity to get some extra work, as I have an F visa, nothing to difficult to understand.

Anyway, that aside, I'm like to here other opinions from the questions I originally posed. PM me if you want.

Thanks.

companies were likely giving the recruiter 50-70 per hour, and they were turning around and offering teachers half that

The main concern would be whether you have a private tutor license or not since their last bust.

I have no knowledge of this question but can even F visa holders be deported or just fined?

To answer your question, the market is for younger, inexperienced teachers who teach below the premium rate. Keep in mind Busan has quite a few Filipina teachers and the lot who underbid.

Private tutoring licenses are only required for kids. There are no tutoring licenses for teaching adults.

Lets get a few facts straight! DeaguNl You're Wrong! These companies get between 80.000 won and 120.000 won per hour, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it for them. The problem is they are willing to undercut anyone for that extra dollar and you have Native speakers with little or no experience willing to say Yes in order to pay off their student loans. These are the facts!

I was fired/let go this morning from Ethenet because I voiced my concerns. Which comes back to the same argument. They don't give a crap as long as money is coming in! but they will blame you if there is the slightest complaint. By the way they were paying me 40,000 per hour on an Fvisa!

They charge companies 80-120k per hour while only passing along 40k of that to the F visa holders? That's one hell of a cut. It seems like it'd be better to contact (find) companies directly (to cut out the middleman).

I can see them getting that from companies for business classes, but not individual 1 on 1 tutoring.

Right. But this is a pretty good example of why it is better not to support companies like that.
The sooner the old timers start setting good examples, the better it will be....yes?
And by that, your posting here is a good example, even though it came at your expense.
The old timers in Korea would be wise to stop feeding a system of abuse that is used by many companies such as the one mentioned in the OP.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but good on you for speaking out against them.

You are correct. ~85k for individual (outside/om outskirts Busan it ups to about 100k)

Groups are higher as said. They tend to pay 35-45k but have been considering paying 50-55 recently but not always.
