|
|
If your school has been around for awhile, then they've probably been burned by a few teachers.
To prevent further trouble, I've seen some pretty strange clauses added to contracts.
My current contract contains the following clauses:
I am not to "have contact of an inappropriate nature with female students."
(I teach mainly middle schoolers)
I am not to "shave my head or other wise have a disruptive hairstyle."
Makes me wonder what the previous teachers got up to. |

-is not to yawn while teaching a class to an excessive degree either in frequency (serial yawning) or in 'yawn height/width' (Lion King style). |

Mine has four separate "no-sex" clauses:
No sex with students
No sex with staff
No sex with hagwon suppliers
No sex with other hagwon customers
I asked the manager if I had to call in when the wife and I were feeling horny |

I had a clause about not ehm, mixing with my students, too. I DID teach two adult classes nightly, but predoninantly my classes were made up of young elementary school kids. |

"If the teacher shows up intoxicated, or otherwise in a state unable to teach, he will be given written reprimand"
It says in my contract I need THREE written reprimands to fire me.
Wow! And here I thought showing up to school loaded was a sure-fire to get outta my contract! |

If you think you want to, do it 2 times, and be ready to do it a 3rd time. |

I left a school two years ago and took up employment with another school in the same town a couple of months later. They have now changed the contract to read that upon completing a contract with that school, you must resign or NEVER work in another hogwan in the same town again. I;d like to know how that works since the contract expires after a year along with it's terms. How can they contract the future?
Anyways, I thought it was funny that the contract was changed because of me! |
