Has anyone interviewed with this school? Hanseo University has posted at least three times asking for people to interview for a supposed position at their school. I believe the last ad was Jan. 19. I know of this place as I went with a friend who was completely qualified for the position.

If you plan on interviewing here is what you can expect. You can only reach the school by bus and it will take you two hours to get to the nearest terminal. You will then have to take a taxi for about 10 minutes and spend some more money getting to the place. The interview from what my friend said was fairly standard. There will be three Americans who do the interview, (none of which have any educational degrees I'm aware of). They do seem like nice people though. After you finish the interview and head back to where you came from do not be surprised if they never contact you or reply to your emails. Instead, you may simply be ignored and will most likely see another job advertisement.

Thankfully my friend wasn't hired and found a much better position. I think it's quite rude and cruel to ask someone to destroy a day in their lives, spend the money to get there, go through the mental thought processes which comes with job interviews both pre/post then you do no follow up with them. The only reason I can come up with is that the hiring committee gets a little extra in the paycheck for working on weekends so they keep the position unfilled. If I am wrong Hanseo then please alter your advertisement and state exactly what you are looking for in a teacher as it's a complete mystery why your school continues to post ads since Fall, 2015. I think the fact that the interviewers all do not hold educational degrees is important as I'm not sure they even know if someone is qualified or not to be a teacher but hey, welcome to Korea! If you do decide to try for the interview my understanding is they are still looking for teachers so by all means have at it and good luck!

I know some people who worked there and they bolted the first chance they had. They didn't go into specifics, but they said there were too many issues with coworkers and administration. However, when they interviewed for the job, they said it seemed really great and the people were really nice. I guess it all changed as soon as they signed the contract.
