Hello, I'm a newbie at this. Lately, one of the recruiters I'm working with has been sending me jobs with the dreaded 3.3% income tax and some not so good clauses in the sample contracts. These are obviously not schools I would want to eventually sign with and deal with later. So I was wondering how do you politely turn these down?

Yeah, you don't really need to worry about how polite you are.

You are merely a potential money-making opportunity for the recruiter. They're not going to get rid of you just because they aren't completely impressed with your attitude.

You have 3 options:

1) Just say no thanks and move on to the next one.

2) Bite the bullet and take one.
Network into something better for your next year.

The difference, assuming you don't get hot under the collar and quit first, is about 1% of salary (about $200) over the year.

How much do you spend in the bar on a Saturday night out?
How much would you lose by not working for a couple of extra months?

3) Find a public school job.

.
