yeh right. You have no idea. I have taught in quite a few countries. I have a very good employer and a very nice school with nice students thank you and I am quite capable of living and working overseas. You are just talking rubbish. |

I also have a british PGCE which is revered throughout the world and taught at high schools in the UK for a decade. I am therefore MORE than prepared to be a teacher overseas. You just have a habit of depressing posters' threads for some reason and no I ddn't ask how easy Korean women were or embarrass the profession, I just asked what the chances of getting a GF were so you're putting things totally out of order. Why do you constantly do this on everyone's posts? It's rhetorical, doesn't need an answer. |

And ALL my posts on here have been just about contracts and visas and the one about getting a gf. Nothing wrong with getting a gf as far as I can see.\The rest of the posts have just been normal posts. Again you are just making things up. |

Yes, my employer has taken me for a medical yesterday and after about a week he is going to apply for a residence permit. There was also not a lot wrong with the contract you shouted out you wouldn't sign. He is just covering his expenses asking for flights to be reimbursed. Every contract has that in them. The only thing is the controversy about if he can legally ask for 1m won to replace a teacher (which he won't need to do as I am staying more than a year). It's a good contract and he is a good employer probably better than any employer you've worked for. |

The school offers high quality English lessons and has multi media in all classrooms and small, quality-designed classrooms too. This is why I got the job, as they were looking for someone who can deliver high-quality English instruction. I was proud to be offered the chance to improve young Korean students' English fluency. |

I didn't shout out anything. As always here, I'm calm. What I did was inform you that I would not sign a contract such as yours. If I recall correctly, ttompatz informed you that there was a lot wrong with that contract. The clause for paying for a replacement teacher is illegal. Regardless of your personal desire to stay the year, if your employer cans you, you likely won't be in the position to fight the illegal clauses in that contract. Again, as ttompatz also informed you, that is not a good contract.
I've worked for a mighty fine employer: the United States Navy. I really don't see any hagweon owner being better than that. |

I would rather work for a Korean employer than the united states navy any day. Just think of all the ps and qs you'd have to mind working for such an employer. So you never really worked for a Korean employer on a Korean contract. You had a US contract. No, ttompatz didn't say it was a bad contract, he just mentioned some things which weren't quite correct like the tax rate. Whatever, it's a good Korean contract and I don't want to work for the United States Navy. |

Good grief, your reading comprehension is nil. I retired from the US Navy, went to university, graduated, took a job for a hagweon in Korea for a year, then worked for the public schools in Korea for six years, and left Korea. You obviously know nothing about the Navy, so you should probably quit embarrassing yourself by making asinine comments. |

And saying I am not prepared to teach overseas isn't an asinine comment? Or keeping on suggesting I mocked Korean women isn't? LOL you Americans are good for one thing only sometimes.

Given your posts on this site, no, it's not asinine at all to state you're not prepared. Where did I say you mocked Korean Women? |

There's an English teacher's website with a forum that includes all subjects. Teachers post help and advice and all sorts of questions related to teaching their subject on there. It's normal to ask for other's ideas sometimes. It doesn't mean you're not prepared. I therefore think your comment was incorrect but anyway, whatever floats your boat, to use an idiom I may use in class today on happiness, seeing as it's Happy Friday
You did. You said I made out Korean women were cheap to get which is kind of mocking them. And I never did! |
