I was fired by EPIK before my contract was finished back in the fall of last year. It states on my visa that it doesn't expire until 11/2016 but I was told that when I left that my visa would be terminated.

When I contacted Korean immigration back in April, they told me that they couldn't find any of my previous visa information. I take that to mean my visa was terminated.

I would like to teach again before November. Do I need a Letter of release in order to do this? I figured that because everything was terminated I don't need a letter of release but I'm not sure.

Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

You need a LOR to find work and obtain a new visa if you plan to return to work before your old ARC expiry.

IF the old ARC would has expired already then you are free to find new work without a LOR.

It has nothing to do with your original visa.

If I was in a situation that required a letter of release, would immigration have caught that? They did issue a visa confirmation number for me last week.
