Hello y'all

I have a quick question and cant seem to get quite a solid answer. I am wondering if I will be able to get my E2 outside the United States? It would be my first e2 visa. I am a US Citizen and will be teaching in Korea through Epik starting October 26th. All my paperwork is complete and I have received my application and notice of appointment so everything is good to go. The problem is I am on vacation in Berlin right now visiting my sister and do not want to go all the way back to the united states to get my visa. I plan on just going to korea from here. So i was wondering if I could get my e2 visa here at the Korean consulate in Berlin? Or if there are any other options such as mailing my information home?

Lastly, does anyone know how long you have from the day you get your visa to when you have to enter korea before the visa expires? 30,60,90 days?

Thanks so much to anyone that can help. It is greatly appreciated and means the world to me!

cheers!

My experience with this is a little old, so it may no longer apply. I received my E2 in Thailand while on vacation, so it used to be possible. That was back in 2005 or 2006.

You should be able to get your E2 visa in your passport at the Korean consulate in Berlin without any problems, I know quite a few people who have recently gotten theirs outside their home countries.

I can't remember and don't have my passport to hand, but I think I had 90 days to enter on my visa before it expired.
