BEFORE you tell them that you're quitting, ask for a 'proof of current employment' form (chaechikjeongmyongseo). In hangul, it's a 재킥증명서. Sorry if my pheonetic spelling is aweful. It's a set form that any employer is supposed to give you any time you ask for one. No biggie.

Here's a blank form to show you what it'll look like:

If they ask why you want one, just tell them that you've heard they look cool. Or your parents want to see one. Or that your friends have them and you want one. When in Rome....and here in Rome, you never tell them you're quitting until you have everything you need FIRST!

Yes, that's it. I got the proof of employment form, a letter of release in Korean and English, and a police background check from inside Korea, to complement what I already have.
