I am looking for short stories for reading practice. They should be a wide variety of subjects. If anyone can suggest a site, it would appreciated.

I have some printables here on EFL Classroom - http://community.eflclassroom.com/forum2/topics/stories-with-comprehension But browse the site for many more. short registration needed.

I'm also building an extensive reading site you might use. Registered teachers can download and print books, get worksheets. http://book.giflingua.com Over 2,000 books at all levels.

Project Gutenberg...

https://www.gutenberg.org/

books, e-books, classics, short stories, passages... multiple formats and free from copyright issues.

One downside is that they are not leveled readers. You will have to look for age and ensure that they are language level appropriate yourself.
