How, exactly, is that "making America great again'? How, exactly, was the country not great? |

Less liberals in office. That's how.
If Obama did such a great job, why was there a huge increase in food stamps during his 8 years in office. Shouldn't the need have gone down. One example. Obama had the country on crash mode.
The new Trump era is making things great!
A funny thing, the liberal media crowed about the public had turned away from Trump and the Republican Party would lose strength under Trump. Another liberal media lie. 4 consecutive elections won by the middle and the conservatives.
The proof is in the pudding.
I'm loving it!

Stop calling those folks "liberals"....what they stand for, is not liberty.
Despite the ruse of the "left/right" paradigm, I like Trump, too.
Make America Great, Again!

One free ride replaces another free ride. Except, the rides aren't free. The free loaders need to get a job, or 2 jobs if they want more.
We Trumpsters are tired of supporting the lazy-lefties. |

Public assistance is not a free ride. If you believe it is, then you are buying into the rhetoric of ignorant and biased people.
By the way, here is how your hero is сделать америку отлично.
The man has demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge of the constitution, and of how our government works. He has incited violence against minorities. He attacked the parents of a dead war hero. He lies constantly. He and his administration are anti-science and anti-education. He is absolutely unfit for office.
I suppose I should be surprised anyone is fool enough to support him, but there are still people who believe Obama is Muslim, believe Obama was not born in America, believe the Apollo landings were faked, believe the Illuminati run the world, believe the terror attacks on 9/11 were either faked or were carried out by the United States government, so, yeah, of course there are plenty of fools who voted for Trump.
Most amusing thing: Trump himself believes he won the popular vote. The man is not only incompetent, he's delusional. There is one way he can "make America great again" though: leave office.
Go ahead and amuse me some more: call me a liberal. That's always hilarious. Better yet, accuse me of being unpatriotic. That's a great way to embarrass yourself. |

This is useful data, and generally speaking, pulling the topic away from emotive, tribal insults like "Obozo" or "President Agent Orange" and towards the data is the best way to reason together. What we have is:
1) A program that works towards something most citizens would support: ensuring their fellow citizens, especially children, receive adequate nutrition.
2) Has a (probably relatively minor, but still real) economically stimulative effect, one which will naturally swell in direct response to broader economic distress, and naturally ebb when said distress declines.
3) Is not on a course towards endless annual growth, which implies that it is not "breeding dependency" in any meaningful sense.
4) Because nutrition is a real factor in human development, ensuring adequate nutrition can be reasonably expected to pay societal dividends.
Assuming one cares about the long term economic health of one's country, supporting a program like SNAP seems wise based upon the information we have. Such programs would probably be better thought of not as "supporting" individual citizens, but rather, developing society's resources; compassionate, certainly, but justified on grounds far exceeding compassion alone. If we accept public spending on infrastructure like roads, why would we not accept public spending on the "infrastructure" most vital and fundamental to society: its citizens? There's plenty of room to discuss how to best invest in our citizens, of course, but that discussion needs to be data-driven if it's going to produce effective results. |

Indeed...there is just something about "Make America Great", that pisses off a few people. |

What pisses people off is that it's saying America is not great. It is. And Trump's nonsense is the exact opposite of great.. |

I'm no nationalist. Trump, now, certainly is. Yet he's doing what he can to screw up the country. |
