What's a small MP3 that can be plugged into a computer's USB to upload files to and then listened to on headset?

Likely not the answer you wanted, but why don't you put mp3 files on your phone rather than an mp3 player?

I want a music device to leave 24/7 so it is not my phone. I have ao much music that it wouldn't fit on my phone.

Fair enough. However, you can buy a cheaper microSD card to install on your phone that has more storage and less stuff to carry around. Just saying...

No real recommendations though. Have never used one. Last cd player I had was nearly 30 yrs ago. Get an iriver. They make the hi-fi stuff, too.
