Magpies' nests slow new bullet trains
For officials of Korea's recently launched high-speed train, the KTX, it has come down to bird versus bullet train. Rail workers are being forced to battle magpies as their nest-building habits disrupt rail operations. "So three hours [after we destroy the nest], we often find another nest at the same spot."

We are on their turf, disrupting their lives.
The magpies are complaining that everytime they build a new nest, some idiot comes and wrecks it.
I'm with the magpies on this one.

Bullet train stranded after electricity fails
Southbound rail lines in the vicinity of Busan were closed while necessary repairs were made. There were delays, ranging from several minutes to up to an hour, as a result.

i just took the KTX train on saturday to go visit Busan. I loved it. it was quick, very quiet, and nice inside. i didn't have any delays for either saturday or sunday. i think i'll go to busan more often. the people seem to be more friendly down there.

The nest are being made on transformer poles which were placed by the RR company. Therefore, it is not the magpies' turf. They are using something which was placed there by humans.

Bullet Train Halted for 2 Hours
Since its much-vaunted launch on April 1, the high-speed train has suffered from a series of technical malfunctions and operational glitches.

After all the hype surrounding the opening of the bullet train that would bring Korea to the forefront of the 21st. century it sure has flopped somewhat.

I'll still be using it though.
